リノベーション事業を手がける株式会社インテリックス(東京都渋谷区 代表取締役社長 俊成誠司)
と国際的アートギャラリー Strataは、ホテル「LANDABOUT」にて、未来型アートイベント
「Whole Picture」展を開催いたします。


■未来型アートイベント『Whole Picture』展 開催概要

“Strata”とは
Strata社は、東京を拠点にロンドンやNYなどにもパートナーを持つ、国際的な“ハイブリッド型”アート
ギャラリーです。デジタルアートと実際のアートを組み合わせたハイブリッドスペースにて、 双方が互
いに補完し、アート作品・アーティスト・コレクター間の新しい相互作用を探求する新形態のアート
ギャラリーです。


“Whole Picture”とは
このプロジェクトでは、メキシコのコンセプチュアル・アートの第一人者であるエクトル・ファルコン
（Hector Falcon）氏による、斬新なアート作品をベースにしています。メキシコの有名なアーティスト
である彼の有名な作品は、絵を描いたキャンバスに丸い穴を開けたシリーズです。このキャンバスを重
ねることで、何層にも重なった作品となり、層を透かしてその下の層を見ることができます。
“Whole Picture”とは、Strata社の最初のデジタルプロジェクトの名前です。
50枚以上の彼のキャンバスをデジタル化し、この50枚以上のキャンバスから1200通りのユニークな
NFT（Non Fungible Token：非代替性トークン）作品がランダムに生成されるというものです。
各NFT作品は、4枚のランダムなキャンバスで構成されています。（下記画像参照）

また、購入者は、NFTの作品を購入しても、
どのキャンバスで構成されているかすぐにはわかりません。
それが徐々に明らかになっていくのです。
作品との対話をより楽しくするために
ゲーミフィケーションの要素を取り入れています。
最終的には、ファルコン氏の最初のデジタル・アート・
プロジェクトのデジタル作品を所有することになります。
購入者はこれを、従来のアートのように、自宅のデジタル
スクリーンに表示することができます。

“Whole Picture”展について ~世界で初の試み~リアルとデジタルの融合
今回のアートイベントでは、エクトル・ファルコン氏が実際に描いた作品とデジタルフレームに収めら
れた多数のNFT作品を、一緒に展示する予定となっております。このように実際の作品とデジタル
（NFT）作品を一緒に展示するのは、おそらく世界で初めての試みです。
また、今回初めて切り絵の円を展示することにファルコン氏から同意を取っております。この切り絵の
円の部分は、これまで公の場で展示したことはありませんでした。
今回の展示会では、その貴重な円の部分が見れるだけでなく、デジタル作品と融合した仕掛けも検討し
ています。


ランダバウトについて
HAGI STUDIOがデザインを手がけたランダバウトホテルは、鶯谷で2020年に開業。洗練されたデザイ
ンながらも人の温もりを感じられるホテルです。“ランダバウト”は英語の”roundabout” （主にイギリ
スで見られる環状交差路）に由来しており、様々なカルチャーを背景に持つ人々が集い、互いに刺激し
あい、新しい価値を生み出す場所になって欲しいとの願いが込められています。
鶯谷は都内でも珍しく、洗練されたカルチャーと庶民的な日常生活を同時に体験可能な、実に魅力的な
界隈といえます。東京藝術大学や上野の美術館群からも徒歩圏内であり、最先端のアート体験が容易に
かないます。ランダバウトホテルはこういった地の利に恵まれており、他では得られない刺激的なホテ
ルステイを楽しめるのです。

過去1年半のコロナ禍により、私達は今までと異なる新しい日常を過ごすこととなりました。

Renovation company INTELLEX and international art gallery Strata are delighted
to announce a new kind of art event: ‘Whole Picture’ at the LANDABOUT Hotel.

Who is Strata? Strata is a new, hybrid art gallery with a small international team
based primarily in Tokyo, with partners also in London and New York.
Strata provides a space in which digital and physical art can combine, enriching and
complementing one other. It explores new interactions and collaborations between
artworks, artists and collectors.

What is Whole Picture? Whole Picture is a project that builds upon the innovative
artworks of Hector Falcon, one of Mexico's leading conceptual artists. Falcon is
famed for his series of canvases in which he first cuts holes, and then stacks one
on top of another in order to create multi-layered artworks. This reveals to the
viewer the layers beneath.

‘Whole Picture’ is the first digital art experience offered by Strata. Utilising
blockchain technologies, the gallery has transformed more than fifty of Falcon’s
canvases into 1200 unique Non-Fungible Token (NFT) artworks. Each NFT artwork
consists of four randomised canvases. (See image below)

Purchasers of one of these NFT artworks do not
immediately know which canvases it will
consist of: instead, this only becomes clearer
over time. This combination of choice and
chance is a form of ‘gamification’ that makes
interaction with the artwork more enjoyable.
The result is ownership of a unique digital
Hector Falcon artwork, which can be displayed
on a wall and enjoyed at home in the same
way as more traditional art.

The ‘Whole Picture’ event is the first anywhere to bridge physical and digital art. It
will bring together both the digital NFT artworks and painted canvases of Hector
Falcon: something never before done. In addition, for the first time, Falcon has
agreed to exhibit the canvas circles cut out from his works. These have never been
shown in public before, and will allow visitors a unique viewing opportunity.

The Landabout Hotel, designed by HAGI STUDIO, opened in 2020 in Uguisudani. It
is a hotel with both a sophisticated design and a warm human touch. The hotel’s
name is derived from the English word roundabout, reflecting our hope that it will
be a place where people from different cultures can gather, share ideas and create
new values.

Uguisudani is one of the few places in Tokyo where one can experience
sophisticated culture and everyday life at the same time, making it a very attractive
neighbourhood. It is also within walking distance of the Tokyo University of the Arts
and the Ueno museums, allowing easy access to the latest developments in the art
world. The Landabout Hotel's location makes it a unique and exciting place to stay.

The past 18 months have forced us all to pause. We have had to consider what
is most essential to us, to contemplate where we can spend our time most
rewardingly, and to interact thoughtfully with our environment.
