当社フィリピン子会社 InfiniVAN が、5G mmWave（ミリ波）技術の
パイオニア企業 WeLink との、次世代 5G アクセスサービス共同開発に合意
実証実験準備を加速


当社の連結子会社である InfiniVAN, Inc.（以下「InfiniVAN」という）が米国で 5G mmWave（ミリ波）
技術によるインターネットアクセスサービスを提供する WeLink Communications, Inc（以下「WeLink」と
いう）と、フィリピンにおける次世代無線テクノロジー展開のための共同開発（業務提携）に合意しましたの
でお知らせいたします。




1. 共同開発の理由
InfiniVAN は、フィリピンのマニラ首都圏の商業地域で、自社保有する光ファイバー回線による法人向けイ
ンターネット接続サービスの提供を行っております。また、同地域での一般世帯向け同サービスも開始しまし
た。


しかしフィリピンに於いては、既存のネットワークの品質・価格・提供エリアなどの要因により、より多く
の人達に、より優れたサービスを手頃な価格で提供することが大きな社会的な関心・課題になっております。
当社グループとしてもその課題解決に向けて、５G 無線アクセスサービスの提供を構想し、電気通信委員会か
らの無線周波数帯の割り当てや、実証実験に向けた準備を進めておりました。


WeLink は既に米国で、mmWave（ミリ波）用いた 5G 無線アクセスサービスの提供実績があり、独自の
技術を有しております。

 同社とサービスの共同開発を行う事で、フィリピンのより多くの人達向けの 5G 無線アクセスサービスの早
期実現を目指してまいります。

2．共同開発の内容
フィリピンでの通信事業免許や光ファイバーによる中継回線網などを持つ InfiniVAN と、各家屋や建物内ま
での独自のインターネットアクセス提供技術のある WeLink が互いのリソースを補完し合います。本格的商用
サービスの実現に向けて、早期の実証実験や、その為の準備を進めてまいります。


3．今後の見通し
本共同開発は、将来的に当社グループの業績向上に資するものと考えておりますが、現時点での今期（2022
年３月期）連結業績に与える影響は軽微と予測されます。今後、本共同開発による将来の業績予想に変更が生
じる場合は、速やかにお知らせいたします。実証実験の開始や終了などの進捗は、適宜お知らせいたします。

[October 8, 2021, the Philippines] INFINIVAN, INC., the Philippine telecommunications carrier
subsidiary of IPS, Inc. (TSE: 4390), announced a groundbreaking new collaboration with WeLink, a
pioneer in 5G mmWave technology. Together, they will explore the use of next-gen wireless
technology and aid in bringing high-speed, affordable broadband to low-income communities in the
Philippines, where affordable internet infrastructure has typically been a challenge.
